What is the future of SAP Business ByDesign? SAP Business ByDesign will no longer be available for new customers from April 2026, but it isn’t being retired. If you’re already using ByDesign, you’ll keep getting full support, regular updates, and maintenance with no announced end date. You’re welcome to continue running ByDesign as long as it works for your needs. SAP is now putting its main focus on SAP S/4HANA Cloud and SAP Business One for new midmarket clients, as those products have longer-term roadmaps and more frequent updates. If you’re an existing ByDesign customer: Your system remains fully supported and compliant. No one will force you to migrate to another ERP. If your business is growing beyond what ByDesign offers, now is a good time to start planning an upgrade to SAP S/4HANA Cloud ERP so you’re ready for the future. For companies looking for a new ERP: ByDesign is being removed from SAP’s price list in April 2026. SAP points new customers to S/4HANA Cloud for modern, scalable cloud ERP, or Business One for smaller businesses. Is SAP Business ByDesign discontinued? No, SAP Business ByDesign is not discontinued. While SAP will stop offering it to new customers after April 2026, the system will continue to be fully supported for existing users and there is no end date for ByDesign. SAP will not be adding new features to ByDesign directly, but the product will stay compliant with legal and regulatory changes as required for all supported countries. For any new feature requirements, SAP encourages customers to use SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) to extend and enhance ByDesign through integration, analytics, and custom development. This means your ByDesign solution will continue to work, remain secure, and meet ongoing compliance needs, but most innovation will come via the BTP platform rather than core ByDesign releases. Regular maintenance and updates focusing on compliance and stability will still be delivered. There is no forced migration and no planned end date for ByDesign. Existing customers can keep their system and plan future upgrades at their own pace.
