3. Cross-Area Changes

What’s new

What it means for your business

Notification bell on by default

It shows your five most recent open items: alerts, tasks, notifications and clarifications. In 26.08 you had to switch it on in Business Configuration. Now it’s on for everyone.

Tenant refresh pop-up

Under Service Control Center, the Refresh System button now shows a pop-up asking you to review the calendar before you submit a refresh request.

E-invoicing PDF field in customer migration

When you load customers in bulk, the “E-Invoicing Incl. PDF” tick-box now comes across with them.

Export to Excel in Attachment Extraction

The button is now on three screens: Attachment Overview, Attachment Preparation Run and Attachment Extraction Run.

Down payments linked to service orders

The standard down payment web service has a new field to link a service order.

Provider label removed (new Built-in Support tenants)

If your tenant uses the new Built-in Support, the Provider label no longer shows on the Cases Edit screen. SAP says it will be removed from the remaining areas in upcoming releases.

User interface upgrade

The SAPUI5 version moves to 1.108.51. No action needed.

Region name updates

Two ISO names changed: Papua Pengunungan to Papua Pegunungan (Indonesia), and Nauru to Naoero (NR).

Mobile app update

Newer libraries for better stability on Android and iOS. The Android app now targets Android 16.

Accessibility improvements

Better screen reader announcements, for example for read-only fields.

RPA to BPA migration

You may no longer see the IRPA question in Business Configuration. If you hadn’t descoped it and want a new BPA project, raise a case with SAP first.

Google search in Help Center

Google Custom Search is being retired, so search will no longer return external results.

4. Finance

4.1 IFRS 18 profit and loss structure

From 1 January 2027 the profit and loss statement needs five groups: Operating, Investing, Financing, Income Taxes and Discontinued Operations. Two new templates are ready: ZAI1 (by nature of expense) and ZAI2 (by function of expense).

4.2 Electric vehicle depreciation

New method MD75 covers tax depreciation for electric vehicles acquired between 1 July 2025 and 31 December 2027. This feature is currently available only in the standard language. The yearly rates are:

Year

Year of purchase

75%

10%

2nd year after

5%

3rd year after

5%

4th year after

4.3 SEPA instant payments

When you pay manually by SEPA credit transfer, an Instant Payment checkbox appears. The system checks the amount against your bank’s limit.

4.4 E-Bilanz taxonomy 6.9

Download the new Excel template from the Application and User Management work centre.

4.5 Fixed price project invoicing

For the Fixed Price invoice method, the system now checks the decimal places in the quantity on each project invoice request item. The allowed decimals are set in Business Configuration, under Quantities and Units of Measure.

5. Customer Relationship Management

5.1 New Outlook add-in

The add-in now runs as a modern web add-in, so it works with New Outlook and Outlook on the web. SAP says this means easier roll-out and central administration.

6. Supply Chain and Purchasing

  • Intrastat: Country of Origin is now mandatory and editable on dispatch documents.

  • Third-party logistics for service orders: you can now create outbound deliveries for service order spare parts through the web service interface II_APDL_OUTB_DEL_EXEC_IN.

  • Clear Inspection Status button: new in the Change of Stock work centre, second screen. It clears the Changed Inspection Status tick-box.

  • Analytic report SCMWREXE_V1: five new fields: Release Date, Finished Date, Gross Weight, Sales Order Item ID and Changed On.

  • Invoice Entry view: if you manually finish a purchase order and then resume the invoice, the Invoice Entry view still shows the status as Manually Finished.

  • Return to supplier interface: the documentation for II_SRM_RTS_MBO has been updated.

7. Compliance and Tax Updates

7.1 Germany

  • E-invoicing: the XSLT template is updated for the B2B e-invoicing requirement SAP says starts 1 January 2027. XSLT is one of two options; the other is Peppol.

  • E-Bilanz: taxonomy 6.9 templates are supported.

  • euBP audit: electronic social insurance audit data can be extracted and sent through SAP Document and Reporting Compliance. It is beta in 26.11, SAP Support enables it, and testing needs a Test Enablement Agreement.

7.2 United States

CSV export is now available for 1099-NEC, 1099-MISC and 1042-S, replacing .txt. This supports the move from FIRE to IRIS. 1099-MISC gains boxes 13a (cash tips), 13b (TTOC) and 14 (overtime). 1042-S has new 2026 rules, including a Chapter 3 exemption code whenever withholding is under 30%.

7.3 Other tax updates

  • Tax number types: a new tax number type, VAT Registration Number.

  • Withholding return forms: Form 140 is updated for FVU 1.2. Forms 26Q and 27Q have new changes (27Q from Form 144). Find them on the Attachment tab of the Withholding Return Run.
